Bf 109G hit a tractor at Fliegerplatz Aalborg Ost 19/6 1944.


The aircraft belonged to 1./ JG 11 and was coded ?
T/o Aalborg Ost. Op: Training.


Four aircrafts prepared for take off at 08:05 hrs. When clearence was given three of the aircrafts took off normaly while Pilot Unteroffizier Curt Lorenz lost control of the Bf 109 that pulled to the right when given power and hit a tractor driven by a Danish worker named Gunnar Sørensen Have.
Both the tractor and the Bf 109 started burning.

Curt Lorenz was unharmed and got out of the Bf 109 while Gunnar Have was seriously wounded from burns and fracture to the skull. He was taken to the Kommunehospitalet in Aalborg where he died on 20/6 at 03:00 hrs.
