Bf 109G-5 serial number 110059 crashed near Søllested on the island of Lolland 9/4 1944.


The aircraft belonged to 7./III/JG 1 and was coded Weisse 7.
T/o Paderborn ?. Op: Interception of American bombers.


The Bf 109 of Unteroffizier Günter Koch was last observed when attacking outbound American bombers and shortly before noon his Bf 109 crashed into a field belonging to “Gammelgaard” farm near Søllested about 9 kilometres east of Nakskov.

Unteroffizier Günter Kock died from a broken skull and was laid to rest in Vestre cemetery in København. The ceremony took place from the eastern chapel on 15/4 1944 at 14:00 hrs.
