Bf 109T-2 serial number 7732 crashed in the North Sea 22/2
1944.
The aircraft belonged to 11./ JG 11 and was coded RB+OE.
T/o Lister. Op: Attack on American bombers.
The Bf 109 was hit by return fire from American bombers and crashed into the North Sea
West off Hanstholm killing Pilot Gefreiter Kurt Schwarz.
On 3/3 1944 a Danish police officer patrolled the beach south of Stenbjerg
Landingsplads. At 16:00 hrs he found the dead body of a German Gefreiter on the
beach approx. 500 meters meters south of Stenbjerg Landingsplads. This is
located south of Hanstholm.
He reported the find to the German coastguard and the policeman and the
soldier on duty went to the airman. They identified the body as that of
Gefreiter Kurt Schwarz. Fliegerhorst Thisted was called and at 17:00 hrs the
body was collected by personnel from Fliegerhorst Thisted and laid in a coffin.
Gefreiter Kurt Schwarz was laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on
10/3 1944 at 11:00 hrs..
