Bf 109T-2 serial number 7782 emergency landed northwest of Grenaa 14/1 1944.


The aircraft belonged to 11. / JG 11 and was coded KD+QT.
T/o Liebstadt. Op: Transfer flight to Norway.


Somewhere around 19:30 hours the Bf 109 emergency landed in a field belonging to “Mejlgaard” estate 18 kilometres northwest of Grenaa due to fuel low level.

The pilot had taken off from Liebstadt for a transfer flight to Norway but had got lost and had no idea where he was. He walked the 1 kilometre to “Mejlgaard” and knocked on the door, pistol in hand.
He was directed to the German observation post in Hegedahl 5 kilometres west of “Mejlgaard” and FLUKO Aarhus was advised.
