JU 88C-6 serial number 750500 damaged during combat 4/11 1943.


The aircraft belonged to 12./ NJG 3 and was coded D5+AX.
T/o Grove. Op: Feindflug.


Pilot Leutnant Karl Rechberger was controlled by radar station “Lama” when he attacked Stirling AA-B of RAF 75 Squadron at 18:53 hours west of Thisted and setting it on fire and damaging its controls.
 
The Stirlings rear gunner Sergeant Reggie Ingray managed to hit the Ju 88 and wounding Leutnant Rechberger in the tight during the combat.
Rechberger returned to Fliegerhorst Grove where the JU 88 was declared to be 35% damaged.

The Stirling made it to the area southwest of Thisted before the pilot ordered the crew to bail out. It crashed at Kallerup at 19:07 hours.
