Ju 88C-6/R-1 serial number 360043 defected to England 9/5 1943.


The aircraft belonged to 10./ NJG 3 and was coded D5+EV.
T/o Aalborg West. Op: Feindflug.


Pilot Oberleutnant Herbert Schmid, Wop Oberfeldwebel Paul Rosenberger and Engineer Oberfeldwebel Erich Kantwill took off from Fliegerhorst Aalborg West on a operational flight and at 16:06 hours the aircraft was reported lost over the North Sea.

It did however land safely at Airbase Dyce-Aberdeen a little after 18:00 hours and the crew were made prisoners of war.
