BV 138B serial number 02017 crashed in the Øresund 11/2 1943.


The aircraft belonged to Fl.Erg.St.(See) Kopenhagen and was coded 6H+MH.
T/o Øresund. Op: Practising catapulted take off.


The BV 138 was practising catapult assisted take off when it crashed into the sea due to the control locks not having removed.

The crew of five died and the BV 138 was a 100% loss.

Pilots Feldwebel Josef Röhren and Unteroffizier Oswald Kriwan as well as Wop Gefreiter Kurt Motzner, Engineer Unteroffizier Alfred Pruscheck and Engineer Feldwebel Karl Dos all rest in København Vestre cemetery.
The body of Oswald Kriwan has never been found.
