Bf 109 serial number 490 crashed near Esbjerg 26/2 1942.
The aircraft belonged to 4./ Jagdfliegerschule 4 and was coded ?
T/o Esbjerg. Op: Training.
Flying Instructor Leutnant Erich Mallon`s Bf 109 serial number 490 was hit from
behind by Bf 109 serial number 428 and had the tail cut off.
Mallon bailed out
and landed safely with only slight injury to his foot.
The Bf 109 crashed at
Forum and was a 100% loss.
