Bf 110B-2 crashed at Hjelmsømagle 1/8 1940.


The aircraft belonged to 1. / Erg. Zer. Gr. Vaerloese and was coded ?
T/o Værløse. Op: Training.


During training the Bf 110 suffered damage to its flight controls and crashed to the ground at Hjelmsømagle 25 kilometres WSW of Køge on the island of Sjælland at approximately 12:30 hours.

Pilot Hugo Adamatz managed to save his life by parachute while Wop Unteroffizier Gerhard Herbing died. He was laid to rest in Lüneburg cemetery in Germany.
