Wellington II Z8538 crashed in the North Sea on 18-19/8-1942.


The aircraft belonged to RAF 12 Sqn. and was coded PH-O.
T/O 20:35 Binbrook. OP: Flensburg.


Wellington Z8538 crashed in the North Sea killing all onboard.
 
Air Gnr. Sgt Charles Black was found near Lild Strand on 8/9-1942 and laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 11/9-1942.

Navigator F/S Robert Leslie Sinclair Ritchie and Bomb Aimer Sgt John Anthony Sharp rest in Ockerö in Sweden while Pilot Douglas William Rowe and Wop Sgt Leslie Douglas Graves have no known graves and are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
